How Did Tuning of Acura NSX Take Place?

June 15, 2012 at 00:23

We have introduced our readers to the idea of tuning of a very old version of car and tuning it into a marvelous new auto, which can beat even the topest racing cars of the today. We have also told the story of Jim, the famous owner of this legendary Acura NSX 1991 and consequently a good friend of ours and also a member of the Acura fan club. Therefore, it can be understood that we had quite a long talk together and there is one more thing to tell you – it is actually the process, how Jim turned his baby into what it is now.

The new (old) car was delivered to the studio Autowave, where it was given a new engine and tuned “brains” from the green Acura. Jim immediately tested this modification by taking part in races at tracks Firebird, PIR, in competitions NASA AZ. Mike Engel, the tuner from Las Vegas, refined and strengthened without suspension a already powerful spring from K-Sport Circuit Pros, brakes from Brembo / Carbotech, as well as other elements of the chassis from manufacturers such as Dali, Zanardi, CT, and Carbing.

Jim’s Acura NSX has its capacity of 593 hp and 625 Nm in a V6 engine. This power was recorded by us because the car was registered as a participant in the races. As you can see, there still is something to work on.
