One of the most known auto concerns in the car development is without doubt the Honda concern. And as every Acura fan knows, Acura is a very important luxury subdivision of this company. Mainly the Acura branch does not have its own research and development center, though it has the project development team, which creates the concepts specially for Acura, but the main R&D is still situated in Honda, even though they can work for projects, which are specially tailored for the specialized brand. In such a way, it is not long to wait for the special V8 engine developed by Honda for the Acura cars.

Mark Makellop, the CEO of one of Acura dealerships in the U.S., believes that the creation of eight-cylinder engine is necessary for successful competition with the flagship sedans from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. According to him, many of Acura dealers in the United States hoped that the next generation of RL models would have got a modern and powerful “eight.” However, still Americans only get a new Acura RL with an upgraded 300-horsepower six-cylinder engine of 3.7, which is currently the most powerful engine in the Acura concern. However, even the president of the company thinks that this engine is not enough for the future growth of his company.
